This policy explains how Azzurro Bar & Restaurant (“Azzurro”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data when you visit azzurro.ie, contact us, book a table, order takeaway or buy a voucher. We are committed to handling your information lawfully and fairly under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Acts 1988–2018.
Who we are
Azzurro Bar & Restaurant, Dock Road, Dunmore East, Co. Waterford, Ireland. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website and when you contact us directly. You can reach us at info@azzurro.ie or 051 383 141.
This website
This website has no contact forms, no user accounts and no newsletter sign-up. We don’t use analytics or advertising trackers on it. Fonts and scripts are hosted on our own server, so visiting azzurro.ie doesn’t send your data to font or code providers.
Like all websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when you visit — your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. These server logs are used only to keep the site secure and working, and are deleted on a rolling basis by our host. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
When you contact us
If you phone or email us, we use the details you give us (such as your name, phone number, email address and anything you tell us) to answer your question or look after your booking. We keep emails only for as long as we need them for that purpose, or as required by law. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to you, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Bookings, takeaway orders and vouchers
Table reservations and gift vouchers are handled by TablePath, and online takeaway orders by Touch Takeaway. When you use these services you leave azzurro.ie and the provider collects the information needed to complete your booking, order or purchase — usually your name, contact details, booking details and, where relevant, payment details. Payments are processed by those providers and their payment partners; we never see or store your full card details.
We receive your booking or order details so we can serve you. Our legal basis is the performance of a contract with you. Please read each provider’s own privacy policy on their site to understand how they handle your data.
Allergies and dietary needs
If you tell us about an allergy or dietary requirement, we use that information only to prepare your food safely. Where this is health information, we process it on the basis of your explicit consent, and keep it only with your booking.
Who we share data with
We don’t sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the restaurant and website — our website host, our booking and ordering providers, and our professional advisers — and only as needed. We may also disclose information where the law requires it. Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; where they do, they must use appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep data
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, then delete it. Booking and order records are kept for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet our tax, accounting and legal obligations.
Your rights
You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent. To use any of these rights, contact us at info@azzurro.ie. We’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28, Ireland, or online at dataprotection.ie. We’d appreciate the chance to sort it out with you first.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page if the way we handle data changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
